History Biographical:

St. Thomas' Anglican Church (French River, Ont.) is a church in the St. James' Anglican Parish (Lockerby, Ont.).

Some of the earliest records of Anglican activity at French River were from the 1920's and 1930's when Rev. C.C. Simpson of All Saint's Anglican Church (Coniston, Ont.) would occasionally include the settlement in his visitations.

St. Thomas' was dedicated by Archbishop W.L. Wright in June 1959.

The church received a very generous donation from a stranger in the spring of 1966. Overhearing the Rev. Colin Clay talk about the need for an organ, the stranger donated $1,000 towards the organ fund.

In 1984 the church building underwent some small renovation; the building was repainted and new steps were put in. A census for the graveyard was also undertaken to tidy the unmarked graves.
