History Biographical: 

The Shingwauk 2022 Gathering was held at Algoma University July 30th - August 1, 2022. The event saw over 200 Survivors, families, intergenerational-survivors, and members of the general public participate in events throughout the weekend. The event also conicided with the opening of the Reclaiming Shingwauk Hall exhibition space.

The 2022 gathering was 14th Shingwauk Reunion. The Children of Shingwauk Alumni Association (CSAA) have been holding reunions of the students, staff, clergy, and descents of those involved with the Shingwauk and Wawanosh Indian Residential Schools since 1981. Gatherings were held in 1981, 1991, 1996, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2022.

Scope Content: 

Fonds comprises records documenting the activities of the Shingwauk 2022 Gathering held at Algoma University July 30 to August 1st.  Includes meeting minutes, programs, planning materials, registration forms, photographs, and other material.
