The Shingwauk 2015 Gathering and Conference: Celebrating Resilience that was held at Algoma University July 31 - August 2, 2015. The event saw over 250 survivors, families, intergenerational-survivors, and members of the general public participate in events throughout the weekend. The Shingwauk Residential Schools Centre partnered with the 4Rs Youth Movement to provide concurrent youth programming under the title of "Celebrating Resilience: Youth Leading Change for Reconciliation" during the event.
The 2015 gathering was the fourth annual Shingwauk Gathering and Conference and the 11th Shingwauk Reunion. The Children of Shingwauk Alumni Association (CSAA) have been holding reunions of the students, staff, clergy, and descents of those involved with the Shingwauk and Wawanosh Indian Residential Schools since 1981. Gatherings were held in 1981, 1991, 1996, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014.
