Lay Reader; Lancelot (May to October 1897); Aspdin (May 1899 to October 1900); Michipicoten (1904). Major was afflicted with polio which caused him to walk with crutches the rest of his life. Editor of newspaper "The Manitoulin Recorder"; Publisher; Wrote: Manitoulin: Isle of the Ottawas, Gore Bay: Recorder, (1934); Operated Sunday School by post for the Diocese for many years through the SSJE - to 1935; in charge of press relations for Algoma's Synods.
