A pair of handmade moccasins. Both moccasins feature flower and leaf beaded designs on the vamps of the moccasins.

Conservation Notes:
Signs of discoloration and wear on bottoms and sides of moccasins. Moccasins are creased from previous storage.
Conservation-Treatment Options:
wrap in acid-free tissue and store in archival box

A pair of moccasin cuffs. Both feature cross, square, triangle and circle bead work designs wrapping around the entire body. There is no base and the edges are trimmed. The inside exhibits stitches from top bead work.

A pair of moccasins. Both feature flower and stem bead work designs wrapping around the entire body. The tongue and bottom are empty.

Historical Context:
A2.WIL: The period concentrating on Reverend Edward Francis Wilson's arrival , and the subsequent building of the Shingwauk Indian Residential School , 1871-1892. Reverend E.F. Wilson was principal of the school from 1873 - 1892, and thereafter was relocated to Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. The A2.WIL.0 collection included bead work collected by Reverend E.F. Wilson and Archibald Wilson, Principal of Elkhorn, Residential School, Washakada. The bead work is most likely from the late 1800s. Mrs. Graham, a descendant of E.F. Wilson, graciously donated the bead work to the Shingwauk Project. She said, "I want these to go back to where they belong".
