History Biographical:

St. Michael's Anglican Church (Allensville, Ont.) is part of the three-point St. Thomas Anglican Parish (Bracebridge, Ont.).

Anglican services in Allensville began in the home of the Hares family in 1868. Records do not say when the church was built, but shortly after the Second World War, the building was moved further south to better accommodate the shifting population. The building was moved onto a new foundation and had minor renovations and improvements done at this time. St. Michael's was one of the churches looked over by the SSJE (Society of St. John the Evangelist). The church closed its doors in the mid 1970s.
