St. John’s Anglican Church (Schreiber, Ont.) is located within the multi-point Lake Superior Anglican Parish.
The first service was conducted in 1889 with Mr. William Evans, then a student. Shortly after they constructed a rough parsonage, which then burnt down on July 17, 1904. By 1906 a new parsonage was rebuilt.
The first church did not withstand the elements well, and in the early 1910's, the parish began collecting funds to build a new church. The construction started in 1914, and the first service in the new building was held in March 1915 with Bishop Thorneloe present. The new church was consecrated in May 1917. By 1918, the Schreiber congregation moved out of mission status and became self-supporting.
The church got a new roof in the 1970s.
On September 13th, Bishop Frank Nock stopped at St. John's in Schreiber and dedicated four new stained glass windows.
