Outstations were established in the parish in 1898 in Slate River and Stanley, Ontario. This was followed by the opening of the Church of Advent (Hymers, Ont.), the Church of the Good Shepherd (Slate River, Ont.), and the Mission of Kakabeka Falls in 1912.
In the 1950s the parish underwent substantial changes: in 1951 the Church of the Advent (Hymers) was closed; in 1952 Oliver Mission was renamed West Thunder Bay Mission, in 1953 the Church of the Messiah (Kakabeka Falls, Ont.) and adjacent parish hall were destroyed by fire and rebuilt.
In 1958 the West Thunder Bay Mission became the self-supporting Parish of West Thunder Bay. The Church of the Good Shepherd (Kakabeka Falls, Ont.) was closed and demolished in 2008.
At present two church remain active in the Parish of West Thunder Bay: St. Mark's Anglican Church (Rosslyn, Ont.) and St. James' Anglican Church (Murillo, Ont.).

Anglican Church of the Messiah (Kakabeka Falls, Ont.) is a church in the multi-point Anglican Parish of West Thunder Bay.
The first Anglican Church service in Kakabeka Falls was held in 1910 as part of the Murillo Mission by Rev. Jethro Norman. Early services were held in the Community Mission Hall, a small building converted into meeting space for the use of any religious groups. Between 1938 and 1940, the Mission Hall was turned over to the Anglicans when the United Church erected their own building locally. The church was dedicated on May 11, 1942. In the fall of 1949, the congregation bought an old school house and moved it to the church property. The school became the church, and the old church became the church hall. The first service in the new church building was held on December 4, 1942 and dedicated two days later.
In 1953 both buildings were destroyed by fire. That summer the new Church of the Messiah was built by voluntary labour. The church moved out of its “mission” status in 1958. In 1964 the building known as St. Margaret's Church, Stanley Park was donated to the Church of the Messiah by St. Paul's (Thunder Bay, Ont.). The building was moved the ten miles to Kakabeka and erected behind the Church of the Messiah for use as a parish hall.
Anglican Church of the Messiah held its closing service on September 7, 1986. Following the closure the church building was moved off its present site by the Oliver Historical Society to be used as a Museum for Oliver Township.

St. James' Anglican Church (Murillo, Ont.) is a congregation in the Anglican Parish of West Thunder Bay. The parish was previously known as the Oliver Mission and the West Thunder Bay Mission. Services were held in the homes of parishioners as early as 1879. These early services were held by Rev. John McMorine, Rector of St. John's (Thunder Bay, Ont.)
In 1884 John Baxendale donated five acres of land on which St. James' Anglican Church was built. The church was the first place of worship in Oliver Township and the first service was held on October 28, 1884 by Rev. J. McMorine. In September 4, 1885 Bishop Sullivan accompanied by Rev. J.C. Machin of St. John's Church (Thunder Bay, Ont.) visited and consecrated the church. The first incumbent of St. James' was Rev. M. Kirby who served from 1895-1897.

In 1924 a fire completely destroyed St. James'. While the church was being rebuilt services continued in the rectory and in the Presbyterian Church in Murillo, Ont. A new church was built in 1926 and consecrated in 1929 by Bishop Roksborough Smith. In 1939 a new church hall was built for St. James; this land was donated by G.J. Ellett. The Archdeacon of Algoma, the Venerable C.W. Balfour formally opened the church hall on January 20, 1939. Around this time the church bell was donated by an anonymous church in Toronto, and was rung the first time on May 25, 1941.
In 1943 the rectory adjacent to St. James' was demolished and a new rectory was built in Murillo. In 1981 a new parish hall and narthex on the west end of the church were added to St. James' Church and dedicated by Bishop Nock.

St. Mary's Anglican Church (Vicker's Heights, Ont.) is part of the Anglican Parish of West Thunder Bay, previously known as the Oliver Mission and the West Thunder Bay Mission.
In 1942 the residents of Vicker's Heights petitioned Bishop Kingston for Anglican services in the area. The services soon began bi-weekly with Canon Hankinson (then rector of St. Thomas' in Thunder Bay). The Women's Auxiliary was also formed in this year.
On April 11, 1948 a small building on South Victor Street was dedicated as house of worship in the Anglican Parish of West Thunder Bay.

After much refurbishment and renovation the building was sanctified as St. Mary's Anglican Church in 1948. Rev. J.S. Smedley, Rural Dean, officiated the early services at St. Mary's.
In 1950, a rectory was purchased for Rev. W. Peeling's use. This was largely the work of the Women's Auxiliary. This was later sold in 1957.
St. Mary's closed its doors in 1982.
