St. Mark's Anglican Church (Garson, Ont.) was part of the multi-point St. Mark's Anglican Parish (Garson, Ont.).
Anglicans in Garson began raising funds for the construction of a church in 1954, and three years later construction was started. The church building was dedicated in 1960 by Archbishop W.L. Wright.
In 1964 Rev. William Ellam directed the re-building of a pipe organ from Christ Church (Brampton, Ont.). The congregation at St. Mark's heard the accompaniment of a pipe organ in their church for the first time on Good Friday 1964.
On November 28, 1976 the church dedicated a prayer plaque in memory of Archdeacon Lloyd S. Hoover. The construction of the additional Narthex was well underway, and on June 5, 1977 Rev. Frank F. Nock, Bishop of Algoma, dedicated the Lloyd S. Hoover Narthex. Also during this ceremony was the dedication of the Memorial Cross and the consecration of St. Mark's complete with the burning of the church's paid extension loan.
On February 28, 1983 the Rev. Frank Nock visited the Garson church to consecrate three stained glass windows. Two of these were donated by Eileen Wallace: one in memory of Emily Albright, one in memory of Wallace's brothers, Kenneth Ronald and Newton Garth Albright. The third window was donated by Ronald and Shirley Burke and family in memory of Verne and Claribel Biggings.
St. Mark's ceased operations in 2015.
Those who have served St. Mark’s include: Rev. Robert Lumley (1954-1957), Rev. George White (1957-1959), Rev. Henry Morrow (1959-1961), Rev. William Ellam (1961-1974), Rev. Lloyd Hoover (1974-1975), Rev. McCausland (1975), Rev. Michael Hankinson (1975-?).
