Brother James Mara was at the Indian Residential School at Spanish, Ontario from 1951-1958. His primary role was working in the kitchen at Spanish. He was also known for his fundraising schemes - bingo games, alumni donation campaigns, and collection boxes in support of the new arena in 1952, He also helped put on performances as a magician and organize the school's skating carnivals.
Series comprises photographs of the Spansih Indian Residential Schools taken by and collected by Brother James Mara. Also includes correspondence, newsletters, newspaper clippings, and other material.
