"The Wigwam" was the first edited official organ of the Jesuit Missions of Ontario.  The first issue appeared on November 1, 1927 during the superiorship of Rev. C. Bélanger, S.J. and the editorship of T. Dwyer, S.J and T. Walsh, S.J. The typist was J.B. Manseau, S.J. and the cartoonist was William Laflamme, S.J.

The Wigwam was published on a monthly basis and included articles on the activities at the Spanish Indian Residential School. It had a limited circulation.

"The Club Star" made its first appearance in mimeograph form in 1945.  It was a newsletter published out of the Garnier Residential School and was met with an enthusiastic reception from the boys, their parents, and friends of the school.

The name Club Star was suggested by Henry Deere. The Club was a special prerogative of the Senior Boys.  It was open nightly from 9pm to 10pm and was a place where they could play bridge, checkers and other games, read the newspapers and listen to the radio.  The idea of the paper originated from the Club and the paper mainly recorded the activities of the Senior Boys. The newsletter's tagline was "A monthly bulletin published by Garnier Residential School, Spanish, Ont."

In 1953 under new editorship the publication's name was changed to "The Garnier Star." This version of the school newspaper was edited and guided by staff at Garnier.  A later iteration of the same publication known as the "Garnier Club Star".  It was first published in September 1957.

It was edited and produced by the Intermediate Garnier Club (grades 7 & 8).The Intermediate Garnier Club was a student run club that was responsible for planning various activities for the spiritual, social, speech and sports committees.  The club also worked to published the monthly school newsletter.  Subsequent monthly issues of the "Garnier Club Star" were created by the student club in conjunction with the high school boys and girls.

"Northern Lights" was a newsletter publication produced out of St. Joseph's Girls School in Spanish, Ontario.  Northern Lights was edited and run by the girls of St. Joseph and was created in response to boys newsletter "The Club Star".
