Letter; Educated at Mcintyre Street Public School, North Bay (1914-1921); Bishop's College, Lennoxville (1928-1931) LST; St. Augustine's Seminary, Toronto (1936-1940); Deacon: 1930, Priest: 1932 Anglican Diocese of Algoma; Gore Bay (1933); St. Michael's, Port Arthur (1934-1935); Hymers-Murillo (1935). Sturgeon became a Roman Catholic priest; Priested 18 May 1940 in the Pro-Cathedral in North Bay by the Rt. Rev'd R.H. Dignan, DD, Bishop of the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie; Curate Matachewan (June 1940-Sept. 1940); Curate, Holy Trinity, Sudbury, (July 1941-May 1943); Curate, Espanola (May 1943-Dec. 1943); Curate at Coniston (Dec. 1943-Feb. 1944); Curate at St. Veronica's, Sault Ste. Marie (Feb. 1944-1945); Curate
at Holy Family, Blind River (Jan. 1945-April 1947); Parish priest at White River & Missions (April 1947 to Jan. 2, 1951); Parish priest at Webbwood (1951); Assistant priest at St. Gregory parish, Sault Ste. Marie, (Nov. 1962); Chaplain, St. Joseph's Hospital, Elliott Lake (10 Sept. 1963); Pastor, St. Lawrence, Webbwood, (August 1965); Pastor, St. Alphonsus, Callandar (10 Nov. 1967); Associate Pastor, Perpetual Help, Sudbury, 1 Sept. 1972; Retired 30 June 1973; Buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, North Bay.
