History Biographical: 

The information sheet program developed by Indian Affairs provided short summaries of current and past issues covering a wide range of subjects from education to economic development, claims and self-government and more. In 2005, the information sheet initiative was expanded to become the 'issues' section of the media publications from INAC. Collection comprises records created by the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development pertaining to residential schools and the administration of First Nation affairs. Collection comprises eight series, including : Access to information requests series, Annual reports series, Central registry files series, Control number data files series, Headquarters files series, Information sheet series, List number data files series, School files series, Treaty series. These series contain a variety of material including: correspondence, letters, transcripts, annual reports, data files, access to information requests, central registry files and other material.

Notes: 

This collection contains historical material which uses dated language and refers to Indigenous peoples using derogatory terms. Looking at this material might be triggering or distressing. A National Residential School Crisis Line has been set up to provide support to former Residential School students and their families. This 24-Hour Crisis Line can be accessed at: 1-866-925-4419.
