The parish comprises the historical Anglican Parish of St. Joseph's Island, as well as Emmanuel Anglican Church (Richard's Landing, Ont.), Holy Trinity Anglican Church (Jocelyn, Ont.), St. George's Anglican Church (Echo Bay, Ont.), and St. John's Anglican Church (Hilton Beach, Ont.).
The Parish of St. Joseph's Island and Echo Bay became self-supporting in 1979.

Accrual 2014-034 was transferred from Bishophurst to Algoma University in January 2014 by the Right Reverend Dr. Stephen Andrews. Accural 2015-032 was transferred by Pat Brown, lay incumbent of St. John's (Hilton Beach, Ont.), to Algoma University in February 2015.Further accruals are expected.
