Sinclair, Laurence (1847-1942)

(7 March 1847 Edinburgh, Scotland - 31 March 1942 Huntsville). Son of Peter Sinclair & Elizabeth Brown of Edinburgh; taught army & navy cadets at private academy in Edinburgh; spoke several languages; Deacon: 1889, Priest: 1891 Algoma; Catechist & Lay Reader (1888-1889); Missionary at Ilfracombe, Hoodstown, Ravenscliffe, Novar, Ashworth & Axe Lake (Bourdreau) (1888-1892); SPG Missionary at Sudbury (1892-1897); Trip to Salem, Oregon (1895); Diocese of Albany (1897-1898); Gore Bay (1898-1900); Aspdin (1901-1911); Ilfracombe (1909-1930). Wrote: "Imperial and Other Political Writings", London: Claude Stacey Ltd., n.d.d and various collections of poetry. Photograph in Christ Church, Ilfracombe.
