Rolph, John Widmer (1843-1925)

(1843 Toronto - 2 April 1925 Cincinnati, Ohio). Educated at Victoria University, Toronto, in medicine MD LRCP; Deacon: 1871 Huron, Priest: 1872 Toronto; Incumbent at St. Stephen's, Goderich (1871-1872); St. Luke's, Sault Ste. Marie (1872-1874) with Korah and Tarentorus. Organized first confirmation service at St. Luke's on the 21st of June 1874. Secretary-Treasurer of the Sault Ste. Marie Library Society which met at the offices of the "Algoma Pioneer" newspaper. Grandson of John Rolph (1793-1870), physician, lawyer and politician - participant in the
Rebellion of 1837.
