(7 January 1814 Wexford, Ireland- 17 December 1888 Port Hope, Ontario). Educated at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland (1837); Deacon: 1837 London, Priest: 1838 Quebec; Travelling Missionary in the Home District (1838-1839); Sault Ste. Marie (1839-1841); Manitowaning (1841-1859); Georgetown (1859-1867); Inspector of Schools in Equesing township; Port Hope (1868-1888); Hon. LLD, Trinity College, Dublin, (1849); Founder of Wycliffe College; Translator of the Book of Common Prayer and the Bible into Ojibwe. Married Margaret Dallas of Orillia.
