McMurray, William (1810-1894)

(19 September 1810 Portadown, Ireland -19 May 1894 Niagara). Came to Canada in 1811. Father became a merchant in York. Educated at John Strachan's common school; studied divinity courses under the supervision of John Strachan; Han. DCL Trinity College, Toronto & Columbia College; Deacon: 1833 Quebec, Priest: 1840 Toronto; Sault Ste. Marie (1832-1838); Ancaster & Dundas (1840-1856); St. Mark's, Niagara-on-the-Lake (1857); Archdeacon of Niagara (1867). Married Charlotte Johnston (1806-1878) and Amelia Baxter.
