(28 August 1842 Upper Melbourne, Quebec - 1912 Augusta, Georgia) buried in Cataraqui cemetery; son of a Presbyterian minister; grew up at Ramsay near Almonte, Ontario; Trustee's Scholarship to Queen's College, Kingston (1856-1857), BA (1859); graduate in theology (1863); Bromley, Ontario (1864); ordained a Presbyterian minister (June 1865); Deacon: 1867, Priest: 1869 Diocese of Ontario; further study at Queen's University; Rector of St. Paul's, Almonte (1870-1877); Prince Arthur's Landing (Port Arthur) with Fort William, Oliver, Silver Islet (1877-1885); St. James', Kingston (1885); Rural Dean of Frontenac; Canon of St. George's Cathedral, Kingston; Archdeacon of Ontario; Han. DD Queen's University; Retired due to ill health in 1909.
