Hincks, Francis Hamilton (1878-1939)

(4 November 1878 Galt, Ontario-16 November 1939 Port Arthur of a stroke). Son of Canon John Perrott Hincks and Frances Flora Georgina; grandson of the Rev'd Thomas Hincks of Ireland. Great uncle was Sir Francis Hincks. Maternal grandfather was the Rev'd Francis Evans, first rector of Simcoe. Educated at Trinity College, Toronto BA (1901) MA (1903); Deacon: 1903, Priest: 1904 Algoma; Blind River (1903-1909); Bracebridge (1909-1919); Rural Dean of Muskoka (1917-1919); Haileybury (1919-1935); St. John's, Port Arthur (1935-1939) with St. Michael's (1936-1939); Canon (1922); Married: Alice Mary Prowse of Blind River; Wrote: "Facts About the Mission of Blind River," (1902) in Algoma Diocesan Archives. Sat on committee responsible for revising the Hymn Book in 1938.
