Cameron, James Dougal

(born 1808) - son of John Dugald Cameron (1777-1857) Chief Factor for HBC at Whitefish & LaCloche from 1821 and an Ojibwe woman. Educated at Upper Canada College. Lay teacher at Sault Ste. Marie October 1831 to the Spring of 1832. Departed Anglicans for the Baptists and was placed in charge of the Tequaminon Baptist mission in Upper Michigan under the Rev'd Abel Bingham. Brother William was ordained a priest
in the Diocese of Quebec in 1832. Neice married Gustavus Anderson.
