Coate dated October 20, 1874, says everything is ready & bell would be hung next day, Mrs. F.W. Coate collected money for this first bell, now in Rosseau school, present church bell given by William Gregg; this & picture 2, given to D.E. Coate by her uncle who used to visit in early days; C.B. Coate summer layreader until d.1926, taking evening service once a week
