P2005.24.1 : photo B&W, 7.5cm x 12.5cm, frames sheet above: Christ died for us that whether we wake or sleep we should live together with him, Thomas Cyril Bruce Joy - Capt. 1st Devonshire Regt, BA, Commoner of William College, 1908, Elder son of George & Florence Joy. A keen and gallant soldier and a gentle friend. He served in the trenches in Flanders, and in Mesopotamia where he was attached to 2nd Dorsets and was present at the battles of Kut & Ctesiphon and was killed in action in defence of Kut-el-Amara, 11 Dec. 1915, age 29.
