History Biographical: 

The Deanery of Manitoulin was one of the primary subdivisions of the Diocese of Algoma. It was later re-configured as the Deanery of Sudbury-Manitoulin.

The Deanery of Sudbury-Manitoulin has 18 churches and one chapel, it is served by eight clergy and one lay pastor.  The Deanery encompasses the communities of Biscotasing, Capreol, Coniston, Copper Cliff, Elliot Lake, Espanola, French River, Gore Bay, Kagawong, Little Current, Lively, Manitowaning, Mindemoya, McGregor Bay, Sagamok, and Sudbury.

The current Archdeacon is the Venerable Glen Miller of Christ Church (Lively, Ont) and St. John the Divine (Copper Cliff, Ont.).  The current Regional Dean is the Rev. Doug Prebble of St. Alban the Martyr (Capreol, Ont.).

Scope Content: 

Fonds comprises records documenting the activities and functions of the Deanery of Manitoulin.  Includes materials from the deanery's W.A. and A.C.W. group.
