The Algoma University Foundation was the fundraising arm of Algoma University. It was established to raise funds to provide scholarships, bursaries and financial support for students, capital projects, and other initiatives at the university. The Algoma University Alumni Advisory Council was closely connected to the Algoma University Foundation and provided essential support to the activities of the Foundation and the university.
In 2014 Algoma University's Board of Governors voted to distribute all assets of the Algoma University Foundation to Algoma University within the next fiscal period and dissolve the Foundation.
