History Biographical: 

Camp Manitou fonds 2016-017/008 (028)Camp Manitou (also known as Camp Manitou Bay of Islands) is a non-profit, volunteer-run residential summer camp on the North Shore of Lake Huron. The camp is located 8 miles west of Whitefish Falls, Ontario.  The La Cloche Mountains provide a backdrop for the Camp, which fronts on the North Channel of Lake Huron. 

Physical facilities include ten sleep cabins, a main lodge and dining hall, canoes and kayaks, a sauna, an outdoor chapel, tennis and basketball courts, a ball field, hiking trails, an excellent sandy swimming area, outdoor privies, wood/solar shower house, and solar powered lights.

Skilled and enthusiastic volunteers provide leadership for youth and family camp programs.  The camp is accredited by the Ontario Camping Association. Camp Manitou is one of the three active camps associated with the Anglican Diocese of Algoma.

Scope Content: 

Fonds comprises records documenting the activities at and the functions of Camp Manitou (Whitefish Falls, Ont.).  Includes photographs, minutes, registers and other materials.
