History Biographical:

St. George's Anglican Church (Falkenburg, Ont.) is a church in the Rural Muskoka Anglican Parish. St. George was one of the congregations ministered by the Society of St. John the Evangelist.

The first St. George's Anglican Church was built about 1875 at The Junction, a mile north of the church's present location. When the Grand Trunk Railway was built past Falkenburg in 1885, the church was moved to its present location and the centre of the settlement. In 1900, some material from an old log church in Bardsville was repurposed to build St. George's Chancel and Vestry. A Hall was built in 1924 and sold in 1957 because of disuse and the need for repairs

On October 25,1966 a new basement hall at St. George's was dedicated by the Archbishop.  The basement was constructed under the full dimensions of the church and vestry.  In addition to a large hall space a kitchen and furnace room were included in the basement.

St. George's celebrated the centennial of Anglican Church services in the township of Macaulay on February 6, 1972.

Until 1903, services were mostly held by the incumbents of Bracebridge, Ont, with Canon A.H. Allman of Gravenhurst, Ont, and Rev. A.W. Hazelhurst of Baysville filling in for some services. Priests began having charge of Falkenburg and St. Mary's Anglican Church (Beatrice, Ont) in 1902.

Incumbents have included: Rev. C.J. Machin (1902-1906?), Rev. Joseph Waring (1906-1913), Rev. John Elliott Graham (1913-1916), Rev. Edward G. Heaven (1916-1918), Rev. Ralph Trego Sadler (1920-1928), and members of the S.S.J.E and students (1928).
