History Biographical: 

The first Anglican services were held in Elliot Lake in 1956 by Rev. Fred Roberts of Blind River, Ontario. These early services were held in the Alcan Theatre. Rev. Robert Lumley was appointed incumbent in 1957 and held his first service on June 16, 1957 at the Can Met School. 

In 1958 Two lots for the construction of a church were purchased.  Services were held in the basement of the unfinished church from December 1958 to February 1959.  The first church service held in the church proper was held on February 22, 1959.  The church was dedicated by the Most Rev. W.L Wright on May 17, 1959.  On June 26, 1983 the Church of St. Peter the Apostle in Elliot Lake was consecrated by the Right. Rev. F.F. Nock, Bishop of Algoma.
