History Biographical:
St. George the Martyr Anglican Church (Magnetawan, Ont.) is another Crompton church and was founded in 1880. It is the subject of a famous painting by Group of Seven artist, A. J. Casson,which hangs in the National Gallery. St. George's was the centre of a mission field which included St. Paul's Anglican Church (Seguin Falls, Ont.); St. John's Anglican Church (Dufferin Bridge, Ont.); Holy Trinity Anglican Church (Pearcely, Ont.); St. Peter's Anglican Church (Midlothian, Ont.); and St. Andrew's Anglican Church (Dunchurch, Ont.).
