History Biographical: 
Orval Osborne resided at the Round Lake Residential School from 1941 to 1947 and Brandon Residential School from 1947-1952. His father, Stan Osborne was the herdsman at Round Lake and a hired man at the Brandon school.

History Biographical: 
Edmund Metatawabin (1948 - ) is a member of Fort Albany First Nation. He was born the first of eleven siblings. Edmund attended St. Anne's Indian Residential School in Fort Albany from 1955 to 1963. Edmund was working on his Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies at York University when he was called home to run for Chief. Edmund held the position of Chief for eight years during which he concentrated on economic development and education. Edmund is also a well known First Nations author and poet. His publications include: Hanaway (2004) and Harvesting: Cree Hunting and Gathering Techniques (2008). In 2010, he was part of the Our Story Advisory Committee for the Canadian Aboriginal Writing Challenge, run by the Historica-Dominion Institute.

History Biographical: 
Joseph (Joe) Dodge (1922-2010) a member of Walpole Island First Nation attended the Shingwauk Indian Residential School from 1931 to 1939. Joseph is the son of John and Mathilda Nahdee. He is a brother to Eldron and Eleanor Dodge, and May and Vernon Tabor. Joe was an employee of Chris Craft. Joseph Dodge passed away at the Sydenham Campus on Sunday August 22, 2010.

History Biographical: 
James Graham Butchart was born in Ireland and moved to Canada. In 1861 James and his wife Mary Jane Moore moved to Sault Ste Marie. The family lived for a time on the Garden River Reserve. James G. Butchart is thought to have worked on the construction of the first two Shingwauk Industrial Homes in Garden River and in Sault Ste Marie.

Mark Solomon graduated from Laurentian University with a Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Native Studies in 1999. He completed his Master of Arts in history in 2003. Since 2006, Mark has worked at Seneca college, as a Manager of First Peoples at Seneca and a Manager of Student Development.
