History Biographical: 
Rector Charles F. Hives was principal of the Shingwauk Residential School from 1929 to 1942. Charles F. Hives was married to Jean Hives (nee Royston). They had two children: Arthur Royston Hives and Jean (Hives) Purvis. Charles Hives also worked as a principal at St. George's Indian Residential School in Lytton British Columbia and the All Saints Indian Residential School in Lac La Ronge, Saskatchewan (?-1929)

Fonds consists of photographs documenting the activities of staff, students, and events at the Shingwauk Residential School. Fonds focuses on the years during which Rector Charles F. Hives was principal at Shingwauk.
